I’m a hostess at Casa Torres & a high school student.

Peak Performance

How did you get into bjj?
My dad has been training since I was 8 and at one point I joined him for about a year.  I left, but ended up coming back.

What are your goals for this year?
My main goal is to compete in more tournaments this year.

What is your biggest accomplishment and why?
My biggest accomplishment is probably doing tournaments. I tend to overthink, so getting out there is important.

What do you want your legacy to be?
I want it to be that I did something about 85% of the population won’t do.

How has bjj impacted your personal life?
It’s definitely changed the way I sleep. I catch myself protecting my neck while sleeping or even turtling. Other than that it has helped improve my social skills.

Who has influenced you the most?
Obviously my dad, but celebrity wise probably Mikey Musumeci.

Do you do any other sports or high school activities?
I’m trying to get more in to kickboxing, but I used to play basketball

Favorite subject in school.
Math

How do you balance your training and going to high school?
It’s definitely hard because I always come home tired & sometimes have no motivation for it. I’m trying to get better at disciplining myself.

What are your plans after high school?
Honestly I don’t know. I want to join ONE as a grappler but I’ve kinda thought about being a mechanic or an entrepreneur as well.

How do you spend your free time?
I like to watch YouTube or Netflix. At one point I binge watched a whole bunch of Gordon Ryan matches.

Favorite technique or position and why.
My favorite technique is probably the buggy choke, even though everyone at the gym hates it. Im trying to get good at it.

Any advice for our readers on or off the mats?
Learn to discipline yourself because lots of times you’re going to lack motivation.
